Hi, I’m Annie.

An artist based in Manhattan with a BFA in Art and Design from the University of Michigan and a minor in Social Class and Inequality Studies. Main avenues of creativity include illustration, film, photography, books, and fashion.

My inspiration has roots in Ukiyo-e prints, the texture of watercolor paper, and my childhood which include crystallized visions of my mother reading me and my sister storybooks every night. Once I understood the power of lessons within stories, my inspiration has since blossomed into an unshakable passion for illustrative storytelling. My work utilizes the curious and honest wonder of a child as a window into deeper conversations about identity, grief, home, and mortality.

I believe teaching at the level kids learn can extend to everyone else because we all start from the wonderfully open and blank slate of a child’s mind. Their only limit is their curiosity and ability to listen.

In my spare time you can find me studying for the Japanese Language Proficiency Exam, taking deep full-bellied breaths in parks, and sewing clothes.
